There is no doubt in my mind, that the mount is the most important single piece of equipment in the very big inventory required to make one 'astro' image. Scope and camera working together on that stable mount obviously cannot be done without. After that, all the other bits and pieces are what make the final image something to be proud of. Making it all work together is no easy task and will keep the newcomer to this hobby busy for years - and I say that having come down that road.
On the following pages I'll just go though some of the equipment I have (I won't even go into the software packages that are also a vital part of it all - some free and some quite expensive but yet value for money).
I mention, separately in one section, the filter wheel & filters which are major components and can be very expensive. After that, on a separate page, I will go through, more briefly, the other equipment I have. I don't have it all, though to someone starting out, it may look like I have. Believe me, you can get more & more, better & better, if you really want to. And if you want to, that probably means that you have been at this for some time, not just starting out. With progress in your images comes the desire to do better....thus, just wanting 'one more piece of gear'. Even now, I can think of a couple of items I'd like to add to my list. ☺
