Above is a crop of the full image below. IC 1311 is the open cluster of stars, above right of center, in the upper image.
IC 1311 is an open star cluster that lies approximately 4,000 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus. It is located a few degrees away from Sadr (Gamma Cygni).
I originally had planned for an SHO image (as per the previous one), but even after 6 hours of subs there was little or no OIII evident in the area. I decided then to do a bi-colour with the Ha & SII data (HSS = RGB) and then imported star colour from the RGB data into the narrow band image. The star colour is more evident when one zooms in on the hi-res image....the small star sizes remain as captured via the NB filters.
